WillowWood is excited to announce the launch of META™ Arc, a moderate to high activity carbon fiber foot with a revolutionary unibody design. The META™ Arc is the first offering in WillowWood’s META™ family, a line of unibody carbon fiber feet, combining heel and toe in a single design (patent pending) free of hardware or wraps.
The META™ Arc was designed in partnership with a team at the University of Washington, led by Dr. Murray Maitland PhD, PT with funding support from the NIH to specifically address the difficulty and complaints among prosthesis users when traversing in the community, specifically uneven terrain.
The resulting product includes a unibody foot plate which reduces weight and a polycentric Arc ankle that immediately positions the foot relative to the ground by inverting and everting in a trajectory that replicates the human ankle. This foot maintains stability in a wide range of positions, reduces lateral forces placed on the knee and is PDAC approved for L5981 and L5986.
“We are grateful for the collaboration with University of Washington and funding support from the NIH that allows us to innovate prosthetic foot and ankle technology and bring truly innovative solutions to the global amputee community. We collected incredible outcomes data during our multisite clinical study and are excited to share this in the coming months.” – Daniel Rubin, COO of WillowWood
Industry-first boltless, unibody carbon fiber design provides over 95% energy return. Polycentric ankle provides class-leading multiaxial stability with no loss of energy return.
Groundbreaking polycentric ankle design provides immediate adaptation across the widest range of ankle motion.
Innovative ankle design decouples ground reaction forces, reducing forces on the residual limb for natural-feeling stability.
