The company was founded in 2008 by Thomas Hammarlund and Ulf Odenblad with the ambition of providing the very best service and the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the orthopedic technology industry.

Embreis is the little company with the big heart and lofty ambitions regarding quality and service. Our company was founded in 2008 by Thomas Hammarlund and Ulf Odenblad.
Both Ulf and Thomas have a long-standing and comprehensive background in the orthopaedic technology industry, having started their careers as members of the sales organisation at Mediband in the late 1980s. Ulf quickly advanced to the position of product manager and continued in this role until the mid-90s, at which time he moved to the west coast of Sweden and ran the healthcare store IdrottsOrtopedi (“Sports Orthopaedics”) in Gothenburg. As a member of Mediband’s sales team, Thomas primarily focused on occupational therapy and physiotherapy clinics throughout Sweden.
In 1996, Thomas and Ulf were involved in starting up GBM Medical AB, an established company in the orthopaedic technology industry which they successfully built up together during a rewarding 10-year period filled with product development and fruitful collaborations.
In 2005, GBM Medical AB was sold to Össur Nordic, and Ulf and Thomas both continued their careers at the company; Ulf in his given role as product specialist/salesperson, and Thomas as operations manager and member of the sales and marketing management team.
In 2008, they once again joined forces on a new venture and started up Embreis, a company founded with the ambition of providing the very best service and the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the orthopaedic technology industry.
